MASSIMO MARCHIORI

Massimo Marchiori, in arte Stari Ribar, nasce l’11 ottobre 1973 a Venezia. Egli è cresciuto coltivando il suo forte amore e rispetto per la natura e questo l’ha portato alla conseguente espressione della sua arte legata all’ecosostenibilità.

Stari Ribar è una parola slava, insegnatagli dal nonno materno, nativo di Silba, un’isola della Croazia, il quale era solito portarlo con lui a pescare. È lì che, per la prima volta, l’artista apprende il significato di questa parola, quale “Pescatore saggio, di esperienza”. Questo termine è stato scelto perché lui stesso impersonifica uno Stari Ribar, con la differenza che la sua è una missione ecologista, che ha come obiettivo quello di “pescare” la plastica dai mari e di ripulire le spiagge.

Grazie ad un’attenta e accurata scelta, all’accostamento di diversi pezzi, texture e tonalità di colori, Massimo Marchiori comunica tutta la sua creatività, trasformando il suo saper fare in amore per il mare e la natura. Nelle sue mani la plastica si fonde, si plasma, cambia forma, dando vita a pesci ed a opere tridimensionali.

Osserviamo come, attraverso le sue sculture, ai materiali utilizzati ed ai luoghi in cui sono stati raccolti, viene descritto e riportato il problema dell’inquinamento dei mari e degli oceani, facendo sì che l’arte diventi racconto ed il racconto si traduca in arte.

Mediante la sua presenza su canali social e alle attività di pulizia sul territorio l’artista educa il suo pubblico al rispetto dell’ambientale, spingendolo verso il riciclo e ad una corretta raccolta dei rifiuti, allo scopo di custodire la bellezza del nostro pianeta.

 

Massimo Marchiori, in art Stari Ribar, was born on 11 October 1973 in Venice. He grew up cultivating his strong love and respect for nature, which led him to the consequent expression of his art related to eco-sustainability.

Stari Ribar is a Slavic word, taught to him by his maternal grandfather, a native of Silba, an island in Croatia, who used to take him fishing with him. It was there that the artist first learned the meaning of this word, as 'wise fisherman, of experience'. This term was chosen because he embodies a Stari Ribar himself, with the difference that his is an ecological mission which aims to 'fish' plastic out of the seas and clean up the beaches.

Thanks to a careful and accurate choice, a combination of different pieces, textures and shades of colours, Massimo Marchiori communicates all his creativity, transforming his know-how into love for the sea and nature. In his hands, the plastic melts, moulds and changes shape, giving life to fish and three-dimensional works.

We can see how, through his sculptures, the materials used and the places where they were collected, the problem of pollution of the seas and oceans is described and reported, making art become storytelling and storytelling become art.

Through his presence on social channels and his cleaning activities on the territory, the artist educates his public to respect the environment, encouraging them to recycle and collect waste correctly, in order to preserve the beauty of our planet.
